You are presented with these two main characters that are innately flawed to the core and in the beginning and you do not know why. You only know that it is the reason why they are they way that they are today. Bianca trusts no one besides her best friend and James loves no one. Through out this book, you start to realize that trust and love can happen, even if it is ever so slowly.

The humor in the narrative is found in the footnotes which have to appear at the foot of the page to which the footnote refers or the point is lost. The kindle edition has all of the footnotes at the end of each chapter where their impact is completely lost. In fact, if I have any criticism of kindle it is that you cannot easily leaf forward or backward while reading a book. Unfortunately for me, I do both very often and find that I have to be judicious about the form in which I purchase a book. I clearly made a mistake buying this book in kindle form.

I LOVE Abbi Glines, I love all of her books that I've read and I've read almost all of them. But seriously? Is every new book that comes out going to be a cliffhanger or "Book 1 of 2"?!? It's like the new trend.I've rated it with three stars because this book coulod have been a four or five star read, had the story been written in its entirety. I feel just a little jipped here, I regret waiting for other reviews prior to purchasing since I prefer the whole story in one sitting not broken down over a six month period.

I've noticed this over the past couple of years, and it may be due to churning out too many books on schedule. Ms. Roberts claims to write all her own books. Now consider that she produces two mysteries, one romantic suspense, and at least one novella each year. That's a pretty tight schedule and doesn't leave much room for the edits and rewrites that books are subject to. In this book, it's noticeable that "filler" words are used multiple times in a paragraph, and descriptive passages seem retreads from previous books. I really enjoyed The Pieces of Summer! The ending of this book was really good as it left me ready for the next one in the series. I liked the different elements Wanda mixed into the story with Jonah and Meredith's sister. I also enjoyed finally getting an update on Eddie. I feel this was a long time coming and it was nice to finally hear more about him.

I enjoyed this read. It was a quick read for me, not that the book is that long, but I was engaged in the story. I am really looking forward to the next installment in the series A Revelation in Autumn.
